Apple has launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, calling it the most transformational change to the iPhone since the original. The device uses a magnetic hinge system and unfolds into a 7.6‑inch Super Retina XDR inner display with a nano‑texture finish, plus a 5.4‑inch outer display for quick tasks.

Under the hood, the iPhone Duo is powered by the A20 Pro chip (same as the iPhone 18 Pro), with storage options from 256GB to 2TB and colors in Star White and Night Sky. Apple says the phone offers up to 31 hours of video playback on a charge, extending to 44 hours when using only the front screen.

Notably, Apple has removed Face ID on the Duo, replacing it with a side‑mounted Touch ID sensor, and eliminated the SIM tray and Action button entirely. The rear camera setup includes a 48MP Fusion Main, 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide, and a 2x optical‑quality telephoto, with support for 4K 120 fps video and 4K Dolby Vision HDR.

New Leadership: John Ternus Takes the Stage
This “Surprise and Shine” event was the first major product keynote led by John Ternus as Apple’s CEO, after Tim Cook moved into the role of executive chair. Ternus used the stage to introduce himself and outline Apple’s next phase, emphasizing innovation in hardware and services while navigating rising component costs and AI‑driven demand.
